On behalf of the Senior School, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all boys and staff attending the Year 10 Outward Bound Camp, as well as the Great Wall Expedition, a safe and enjoyable experience and we look forward to seeing them back at school on Thursday November 16. Each group of boys will have one TSS Senior Teacher and one Outward Bound Outdoor Education Instructor present for the 10 days. The camp provides a great opportunity for boys to grow and develop their leadership skills in the School environment, assisting any leadership positions at The Southport School for Year 11 and 12.īoys and parents have met for various information sessions throughout the year to introduce the camp, with assistance from representatives from Outward bound. The site of the camp is along the Paddy’s Flat Region along the Clarence River, NSW. I therefore thought it might be useful for the parents and families of boys in Years 7-9 to get an idea of the camp for future reference. TSS considers the Year 10 Outdoor Education program to be a critical aspect of the overarching philosophy of a TSS Education in Learning to Lead. Each camp brings together children between 8-15 years old from many different schools and parts of the country for a week or thereabouts, to have a great holiday and a lot of laughs together.
